Some of our stuff still in the laundry. I still find sand everywhere I go in the house and my back still a little bit red after 8 days of sunbathing.
We just arrived home from our holiday in Rhodes, Greece.
It’s quite hard to get back to my everyday to do-s. I think I’m still in holiday mode, and it does not help that it’s 15 degrees less here and raining. But browsing trough the photos, and recalling the holiday memories seems to be helping, so COME AND SAIL AWAY WITH ME! This time to Rhodes.

If you don’t have much time to read check out my other post 10 places you have to see in Rhodes, Greece where I show you the must-visit places on the island.

If you are planning your trip to Greece, read my travel diary below:

We booked our holiday trough the Secret Escapes website our holiday provider was Olympic Holidays and we flew with Enter Air . We stayed at Anavadia Hotel in Kolymbia, Rhodes Island, Greece.

Finding our holiday:

One of my favourite part when planning a holiday is browsing trough the holiday websites, dreaming and planning our perfect vacation.
I love Secret Escapes news letters bringing a little sunshine to my rainy day. Basically they do luxury holidays — but with affordable prices so you can enjoy a little bit of sparkling even if you are on a tight budget.

The Holiday Provider:

We were quite happy with Olympic Holidays. There was a shared transport to the hotel from the airport and back. They were really helpful even before our holiday when we contacted them with our questions. Our representative at the hotel couldn’t really be bothered, but we didn’t really needed his help anyway as they provided all the important information at the airport and on the bus.

The Flight:

We flew from London Gatwick (LGW) to Rhodes (RHO) with Enter Air (ENT).
Enter Air is a Polish airline but they also fly from England to popular holiday destinations. We never flown with them before but we were really happy with our flight. The staff was really helpful, the food was delicious — and compare to other airlines, quite reasonably priced. A cup of coffee or tea only £2 while a toastie or panini cost you only £4. For a bottled water or fizzy drink it was only £1.50 which was actually cheapest than at the airport.

The Hotel:

As I already mentioned above, we stayed at Hotel Anavadia.
The hotel located about 10–15 minutes walk from the beach and from the town centre.
It is a 4* hotel, but I think it’s more like a 3* for British standards. My husband joked that the 4 actually shows the number of people working in the hotel, which is only half a joke. So during the summer expect long ques at the bar and at the restaurant, also you might have to wait 10–15 minutes for your drink. But I have to say that the hotel was really busy at the time we stayed there — probably because it was the last week of the school holiday — mainly with English people. It is still no excuse thought being unprepared for the rush — when most of us booked our holiday at least 4–5 months in advance. Like they did not have our room ready so we had to spent the first night in a different room, and then move to an other one the next day.
The food was delicious, although we paid for an all-inclusive holiday, but it was more like a full board.
The ladies at the reception were really helpful and friendly. They explained everything we needed to know about the island and even printed out a map and some other useful information for us — without asking.
The rooms were quite nice and clean.
