The Girl In Room 105 By Chetan Bhagat

It’s the valentine day of the year 2019. I came home a bit early from office, had dinner and completed reading the last pages of the first book of the year. Which is The 5 AM Club.

While keeping the book (The 5 AM Club) back to my mini bookshelf, bookmark fallen from the book, which I placed at the last pages of the book after completing it. I collected the bookmark and placed it on the corner of the bookshelf.

The next day (Feb-15) I came a bit late to home than my usual timings. Adding to it the internet connection is not working. Without any other option left to kill the Friday night, I started staring at my bookshelf like checking out vividly blushing girl's eyes.

I read the introduction for 2 to 3 books but ended up not picking up any book.

Then the Image on the bookmark I placed yesterday got my full attention. A girl is standing near to the door while the door is slightly opened in a dark room. With the limited light, the girl's face is partially visible. So It’s hard to understand the expression of the girl.

Sometimes it’s hard to understand girls expression in full sunny day also :)

Bottom to that Chetan Bhagat The Girl In Room 105 written over the bookmark.

Then I picked the book The Girl In Room 105 by Chetan Bhagat to read.

The book will come with a catchy tag line.

An unlove story.

By the time I started reading the book it’s 12:00 AM. The Initial chapters were about the conversation between Keshav (the main character) and his friend Saurabh.

Keshav broke up with his beautiful lover Zara 4 year back, Zara moved on but Keshav not able to.

Every day after work he used to drink alcohol and explain the same love story to Saurabh again, again, again and again.

However, that night, on the eve of her birthday things got changed. Even though he sent decent amount of alcohol into his body still he was controlled and not trying to wish her. 12:00 AM passed Keshav not yet opened his mobile.

Seeing this Saurabh felt so happy. He said you moved on bro, completely. We need to celebrate this great achievement by Keshav.

They started drinking again. All of a sudden Keshav mobile got a call, he hasn’t lifted the call. Following it, he got a couple of WhatsApp messages.

The call and messages are from Zara. In the messages, she asks Keshav to meet her now. Keshav goes to the place where Zara lives, but he founds Zara died and lying on her bed.

The rest of the story is all about how Keshav found the criminal.

In the book, you will also get a few glimpses about the Ind-Kashmir-Pak issues.

In Short:

The book is all about how the broke up lover found who killed her love of life.

Rating: 4.5 (Out of 5)

Maybe I bit biased on Chetan Bhagat :)

If you love murder thriller, you will definitely enjoy reading this book. After reading the initial chapters, I am not able to control and completed reading this book in just 9 hours straight.

Below are a few highlights I marked while reading the book.

  1. Is it that easy for some people to move on? To go from one person to the next, like switching TV channels.
  2. In some ways, having a best friend is way more important than having a lover.
  3. The pain of being away from you on your birthday is way more than any physical pain I feel.
  4. People care much more about Apple phones today than apple orchards.
  5. Things are only good for you to a point, in small portions like love.
  6. When you plan the rest of your life with someone, and then that someone is gone forever, what do you do with the rest of your life?
  7. Thank you for showing me what love is all about. And thank you for also teaching me to never love someone too much.
