Super Bowl Sunday is something of an unofficial holiday in the United States these days, a day when everyone can just sit back and enjoy the best football in the world and kick back with friends and family for a day of relaxation. That is, everyone except for the media members covering the event.

As a content manager at an online media outlet, CLNS Radio, covering the Super Bowl over the past few weeks has been the most hectic time of my life, without question. From the moment the New England Patriots, which is the NFL team that my staff and I are responsible for covering, won the AFC Championship and were headed to the Super Bowl on January 22 until February 6, the day after the Patriots won the whole thing, I covered every inch of that game for two weeks straight.

The content manager is responsible for all aspects of coverage for their specific team. For me, that means running two podcasts, coordinating all written work and promoting ALL content on social media, in addition to coordinating schedules and content with the writers and talent. To be completely honest, it’s a lot to do even once each week.

But for Super Bowl coverage, we did at least one show every single day from January 25 until February 6, a total of 14 shows. Yes, I said 14 shows. Needless to say, I slept for a grand total of about 10 hours over those two weeks.

So the next time you’re sitting back and enjoying the game with your friends and family, remember that some of us aren’t sleeping just to bring you that coverage.
