Hi all,

My name is Max Sydorenko, I manage the team of extraordinary people… They all are sales managers, people, who bring money and make businesses work.

Ein-des-ein, design agency at TechBBQ
Oksana Netak, Max Sydorenko, Michael Chepurniak and Ira Repnikova

In 2018, my colleague Vadim Bilan and I arranged a roadshow trip to Copenhagen and met several IT entrepreneurs, who kept unity when responded our question about the event or conference, which is the must-see when visiting the city. The response was “TechBBQ”.

Without any doubt, our team has bought startup tickets and got on board of one of the most famous Nordic tech events.

To add more eccentricity to our being at the conference, we took our “not-yet-unicorn-horse”. Sharing with you some nice insights and pictures! ;)

Enjoy!

‘NO’ to Blockchain — ‘YES’ to Sustainability!

This year, TechBBQ’s main prize for startups was won by PLAN A, a Berlin-based startup that develops an algorithm, which predicts where and how a climate change will hit the hardest… You can check their ideas here: https://plana.earth/

Congrats to Lubomila Jordanova!

One investor at TechBBQ has told us, “Guys, be sure to add “eco” or “sustainability” to your startup’s summary and you will get money right here.”

Climate changes and what is happening with the environment right now is an issue, which boils cold Nordic brains.

Networking is our everything

TechBBQ appeared to be a great place for networking. Thanks to the matchmaking app, which gave us a chance to access the lists of attendees, startups, and investors, we managed to arrange several 20-minute meetings at matchmaking area of the event.

Networking is our everything

Within the 2 days of the event, I had 20+ meetings, which were appointed and scheduled through the official app. It took me around 20–30 hours in total to research profiles of the event participants and to customize my matchmaking massages, so the recipients of the invitations could understand the reason to meet at TechBBQ and the topic, which we could discuss.

Matchmaking App — web version

The matchmaking area at TechBBQ could be better, as 25+ tables were placed at the area, which had not more than 50–60 square meters. So, while talking to a person, you could feel the back of someone, who was standing at the table behind you…

Be ready to compete with other Ukrainian companies

Ukrainian companies are quite active in the Nordic region. We have met a few Ukrainian teams that were also looking for new partners and clients.

Danish guys, who do business in Ukraine

One team from Lviv, Eliftech, even had own stand and was the tech partner of TechBBQ. This option costs more than 10,000 Euros and, to be honest, I am not sure that it’s the price that worth to be paid for such representation…

Eat, Drink, Pray

Talking about the “BBQ” part of the TechBBQ, I have to say that this part of the event was also well arranged and we had a chance to enjoy some typical Danish food…

Meet-box for Horse — never say never;)

and beer…

The BBQ place appeared to be a great place for networking. As even wishing “Bon appétit” to someone, who is sitting close to you, creates a good reason for a fruitful dialog.

Work hard to be successful and love what you do

TechBBQ had many stages where different companies and IT guys shared their knowledge in particular areas. So, if you are looking for new ideas or inspiration, visiting the stage and listening to successful speakers may be a good reason to be at TechBBQ.

But, to my mind, you will not learn something extra new from attending such type of events…

Nobody will share a universal secret of success and all stories are based on some particular uniqueness, which is only inherent to personal experience of a speaker…

TechBBQ 2020 — the event to visit!

There were 4 of us at TechBBQ and we had 60+ meetings with great people, who have become our main inspiration!

Inspired Oksana Netak from CIGen, Ira Repnikova is talking to an investor

It was our first serious diving into the Danish market. It is still much to do ahead to get our “dream contracts”. But we are ready and will be happy to attend the TechBBQ 2020 having in cases projects from the previous event! :)

P.S. Here are my top three startups to watch after and their owners — people, who do our worlds better.

Tom Matthiesen, CEO at MANY Digital A/S — he changes the way football clubs interact with their fans! Knowing more about who your fans are opens new business opportunities for clubs and changes the way fans experience the game and everything that is happening in the stadium.

About the platform

Anne-Lise Heggland, CEO and Co-Founder at Podbike — she designs new velomobile, which is aimed at bridging the gap between bikes and cars. A real project of the 21st century. Guys already have 400 pre-orders and this number is increasing.

Jacobo Domingo Gil, COO & Co-Founder at Robotto Co — his team keeps eye on forest fires and helps to detect the next place, where such fire may occur.

See you next yeat at TechBBQ2020!

Best regards from Max Sydorenko!

P.P.S. And remember — All You Need Is Love!)))
