“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”― Mark Twain

On some days I feel “froggy”, not because of the amount of work I need to deal with, no, it is rather that it feels like I don’t make any progress. I have good intentions, trying to contribute meaningful work, but every morning there it is, that big, ugly, green frog sitting on my desk. It doesn’t move, but it smells, it is slimy, and has big warts all over the place. It even seems to change the climate in the room into a humid big terrarium, me being the foreigner, not the frog. Short, it is scary, and disgusting.

Every morning, I start working with the intention to deal with the frog-beast. However, all too often, I just push it to the side, starting to deal with my emails. But it is there all the time. Even if I’m not looking, I know the frog is watching. It is hard to concentrate, my mind wanders all too often to the frog. I can’t deal with the incoming emails…
