Sales are key for every business in 2019, whether you are building essential consumer product or unique futuristic product. Here I would like to explain to you the basic process of marketing and sales that any startup can apply. There no rocket science in this article but this will give you a clear understanding about how to start selling for your startup.

Collect the prospect customer database.

Collecting prospect customer also knows are lead generation process, it can be thousands of way you can generate leads but don’t be in rush create your criteria and identify which source is good for your and then jump on it. Also, experiment with multiple options and compare the outcome with each other and decide which one is best. For example, running ads on facebook and google ads. Reach out each individual from prospect database using a phone, email, Linkedin, Skype, meetings etc. understand their need and showcase your product. Keep notes for an activity like the call, message, meeting. Organise collection in the group to the category like Potential, Interested, Benefit etc. this will help you to prioritise your focus. If contact is interesting in your product, do regular follow-up until he buys your product or says No. to simplify this task you can use excel or use any CRM tool.

Keep in touch with the first group of customer and collect feedback.

This step is not necessary but is very important for long term success, as you grow you need a recommendation from your old customer. You can improve your service or product based on feedback. Sustain recurring business for the existing customer.
