How to Incorporate the Roadmap Explorer into your strategy

Strategy in architecture means systems are thoughtfully planned and delivered. It means delivery and maintenance teams have a clear view of the work to be done today and in the future. As architects, integrating Salesforce’s roadmap into your own implementation planning is crucial for effective roadmapping. By being aware of upcoming features, you can align your own architectural roadmaps to get value from Salesforce’s future capabilities while aligning with your organization’s technical and business needs. This includes prioritizing projects, anticipating the necessary resources, and preparing for the integration of new Salesforce functionality into your existing solutions.

Effective roadmapping involves two primary aspects: aligning with technical advancements and synchronizing with business objectives. On the technical side, being informed about new features like Salesforce Archive to improve scalability and reduce the amount of record data in Salesforce or Shield TLE which enables you to plan for proper use of encryption. This foresight helps you manage dependencies and mitigate potential risks. On the business front, understanding how these features can support organizational goals allows for a more strategic approach to implementation, ensuring that technology investments are directly contributing to business outcomes.

By incorporating the Salesforce Roadmap Explorer into your architecture strategy, you can get feedback and buy-in about the approach and outcomes before any work begins. This alignment will streamline your implementations and ensure that your architectural decisions are always one step ahead, perfectly poised to leverage Salesforce’s evolving ecosystem.
