For November 2020, we’re taking a deeper look at the career aspects of architecture. Read on for a preview of what we’re covering.

Why careers?

It’s no secret that architects hold the most in-demand roles in the Salesforce ecosystem. In recent months, we’ve focused on providing relevant and in-depth technological resources for the questions many of us are facing: how to help keep teams and systems running, how to design for data access at scale, last month’s resources on automation architectures. And we’ve got a lot more expertise to share in November and throughout the rest of this year.

An architect’s value isn’t simply technological know-how. It’s in combining accurate knowledge of the tech landscape with deep understanding of business and the humans involved. This is how architects design and implement the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders.

We’ve asked some of you to weigh in on how the profession is changing and what your career aspirations look like in these extraordinary times. Last month Michael Maoz, SVP Innovation Strategy at Salesforce, wrote about a framework that leverages empathy for the user to drive intensive transformation projects facing many businesses today. Salesforce Certified Technical Architect Steve Baines revealed how he and his team shifted the way they designed and delivered a healthcare app to respond to COVID-19. Architects Carlos Villalpando and Priscila Renwick shared a conversation about the work ahead for all of us to create meaningful paths for mentorship and build a more vibrant, equal ecosystem.

In November, we’re covering what’s top of mind for architects and their careers. You’ll learn what skills architects rely on most, how they think about their own professional development, and what Salesforce is doing to invest in architect career paths.
