Salesforce is proud to again be a Gold sponsor for OSCON! We will have a number of engineers in Portland showing off their open source projects and talking about their contributions. Here is a rundown of everything we’ll be doing:

Monday @ 6:30pm we are sponsoring a fun run/walk 5k. Come grab your swag and get those steps in!

Wednesday & Thursday we will have a booth in the expo hall where our engineers will be talking about open source. We will have three demos showing some of our open source, in the back of the booth:

  • Reactive microservices with gRPC and RxJava — Ryan Michela
  • Cascading Docker Image Updates — Andrey Falko
  • Managing Open Source at Salesforce — Me (James Ward)

Wednesday @ 2:35pm I will be presenting an Introduction to Apache Kafka: The next-gen event streaming system

Thursday @ 4:15pm Ryan Michela will be presenting about Reactive microservice end to end from RxJava to the wire with gRPC

To go with that great content, we’ve also just open sourced our OSS Request app! The app is used to manage the workflow for open source requests from our engineers. We will provide more details soon, but come by the booth for a demo. Hope to see you at OSCON 2018!
