Meet Christian Kim our Director of Operations. She oversees the company’s daily operations from HR to client communications. Read on below to learn more.
How did you get started at SALIDO? I started with SALIDO as the Director of Support, guiding the client experience from on boarding to installs while ensuring we had quick and quality responses to all support requests!.
What’s your hospitality background? Hospitality is my lifeblood. I started in the industry in Seattle working with Starbucks as a Trainer within my district, and had a home base at one of the top ten revenue generating locations that year. After moving to NY, I joined the flagship Hillstone Park Avenue and supported as a Head Wait, Check Wait and Trainer where I learned the optimal operational processes and communication needed for success within a restaurant. As a Director of Special Events for 3x1 Bespoke Denim, I hosted clients for Google, Nike, Van Wagner, and Complex. Channeling my passion for hospitality internally, I joined Spring as the Director of People Operations curating culture and managing all things people. Before SALIDO, I worked with Chef Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group, first as a Recruiting Consultant for the group and then transitioning to General Manager of the flagship Epicerie Boulud at 64th Street.
Favorite Moment when on boarding a new client? There’s nothing quite like when we go live! It’s exciting for us to see SALIDO in action and wonderful to see our partners get their business started. I also love to engage with the managers and staff during the training process to educate them about SALIDO and our empathetic mission and vision to help the hospitality industry.
How does your hospitality background fit into your role at SALIDO? I was first hired to further develop our 24/7 support, a unique service to our company. Being part of a team that has previous experience within the industry helps drive insightful practices to ensure a hospitality focused client experience. Especially with a call at 2 a.m., I am excited for the unique opportunity to show that we are readily available to help from recommending the best report to verifying information, we seek to support success for our Operators.

Favorite food city outside of NYC? I have great respect for French culinary technique and the quality of execution is unparalleled in Paris. I love the incredible creations by Chef Kei at Restaurant Kei, the attention to detail and level of service is noteworthy. I also enjoy Restaurant David Toutain and the Macaron Glaces from Pierre Hermé!
What is your eat “any time of the day” food? French Fries, particularly curly or waffle, but I do not discriminate. The shoestring fries at Spotted Pig or the fries at Upland (with burgers at both spots) can be irresistible.
Where do you live in the city? I live on the Upper East Side. I like being near the park and don’t mind all the families. There are some great neighborhood spots including JG Mellon, Café Ambrose and the omakase at Sushi Ishikawa is incredible!
What’s your go to Starbucks Order? When they used to have it… it was an Orange Mango smoothie with no protein, two scoops of matcha, no dairy, a splash of strawberry, half a banana, and a tall scoop of ice in a venti cup. Also adding uncut eggnog to any frapp, when in season is worth a try!
Hillstone Order? Spinach & artichoke dip with focaccia instead of the chips and then a baked potato with everything (butter, chives, sour cream, shredded cheddar, bacon), plus a side of all the toppings. Pro tip: you can order a veggie plate entrée of the different sides available.
Anything else? I’m originally from Kirkland, Washington the home of COSTCO! I’m a big fan of their product and business model — love that everything is curated for high quality at wholesale prices and that they’ve built such a loyal customer base!
