SALIDO takes on RUMBLE
Team bonding is an integral part of building and maintaining a company culture. At SALIDO that often means tapping into the hospitality world and enjoying New York’s best food and drinks. At the same time, we know it’s important to keep active and healthy so we can afford to dine out and imbibe as much as we do.
Recently a handful of our SALIDO team members went to Rumble, a boxing-inspired group fitness class. We figured there is no better way to get to know another person than when breaking a sweat and throwing some punches.
Rumble was founded by four individuals looking to re-think the approach to group fitness, including friends to SALIDO Eugene Remm (co-founder of the EMM Group) & Noah Neiman (former Barry’s Bootcamp master trainer). They collaborated to leverage their hospitality, fitness and service backgrounds to offer a new way to workout.
The Rumble experience is meant for anyone who wants to have fun while also putting in the work to improve his or her fitness. The class lasts 45 minutes and includes a group warm up followed by intervals of body-weight conditioning and strength exercises and combinations of the six boxing punches on Rumble’s special water-filled, tear-dropped bags. The soundtrack for the class is spot-on and is ideal for getting your blood moving. Our trainer, Bradley Rose had amazing energy and did a really great job at explaining moves and being patient with our mixed group of novices and experts. Plus he gave SALIDO a shout-out at the beginning of the class, which unified us in pride and pumped us up!
At the end of the evening, not only did we prove to other class-goers that team SALIDO was a force to be reckoned with, we were able to come together and spend some quality time with one another. It’s nice for all divisions of the company — engineering, customer experience, design, operations, and sales — to have an opportunity to connect when typically they’re not working in tandem on a day-to-day basis. We all know that building a startup from scratch does not always allow for a ton of free time, so it’s a testament to the company we’ve created when coworkers choose to spend that time together.
