The Salon Why Is It Essential For Growth And Happiness
When Does Something Desirable, Become Essential?
Welcome to the Friday Fellowship Salon.
For so many of us, the Salons have gone from being desirable to being essential to our emotional and mental well-being, some of us have become appreciative if not dependent on other Salon members, this wasn’t a conscious choice, we have sleepwalked into it.
But was it inevitable? When you consider several factors, kind and caring people, a joint love of writing, time freely and willingly given, genuine best wishes for each other, a safe space to be yourself, a place to expand and grow, a place where diversity is celebrated, and the human need to be happier and safer in groups.
We have a great opportunity to support and promote each other’s dreams, but we need to share them first, Chantal Weiss has a new book out
Chantal pointed out that most of us have read the poems in the book, so you don’t need to buy it, but you can and it makes a difference if you do. What you can do for free, is leave a review, As she points out we have read lots of the poems in the book so it would help her promote the book.
Anything you want help promoting old or new please let me know and I will try to share it, when one shines we all shine.
Like some of you, I have developed deep bonds with people, even addictions to some people. My Cozy Den suggested in a comment in response to me sharing this in an article,
“This is me, craving your attention, and I just thought I could go cold turkey”
😂 No way, the addiction is real and healthy 😎💐
I believe it’s very healthy, however, it can lead to personal growth, and that changes us, which in turn can feel threatening to our sense of self and can be challenging to our loved ones, who begin to see changes in us.
The Salon is like a magic medicine, too much exposure to each other could reduce its effect, and the limited nature of our contacts and interactions add to the magic.
Libby and Zizi are looking into a group Zoom call which would be really interesting. However getting a suitable time will be a challenge, please highlight or comment if you would be interested.
I plan to stick with the format of the Salons, with the same people in each, obviously, reading each other’s articles is important to all of us, but not as important as your mental health, be kind to yourself and do what you can.
Here are this week’s reads by our talented writers.
You are loved, unique, magical, beautiful, powerful and divine.
Stop shrinking and start shining, the world needs you.
“To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world.” Dr. Seuss — Responsibility.
The universe has your back and God loves you.
Kindness changes the world one thought or action at a time.
Thanks for reading but more importantly thanks for being your beautiful self.
Love yourself, Love life, Love each other, and Create Magic!
