When I was a teenager, I went
Through a growth spurt
Knees and elbows and back
Aching to accommodate
E
Long
Gated
Limbs.
My family
Bought me ibuprofen, medicine
To dull my nerves.
I would go days, months
Without noticing my own growth
But now that I have expanded
I am thankful for the ache.
