Josh Hunter scored two goals, including the equalizer in the final minute of stoppage time, to help the BYU men’s soccer team draw Colorado Rapids U-23, 3–3 in the Premier Development League game of the week Friday night at South Field in Provo, Utah.

Cameron McLaughlin also scored for BYU (4–2–3), which kept pace with the Rapids (3–4–3) for third place in the PDL’s Mountain division.

Nathan Braaten gave the Rapids a 1–0 lead just three minutes into the match, and Jaret Townsend doubled the advantage a half hour later.

But Colorado’s Bryce Montes was sent off with a first-half red card moments later, and BYU took advantage of playing the second half a man-up. McLaughlin scored just two minutes into the half, and Hunter drew the teams level, 2–2 with a scorcher in the 65th minute.

Andre Shinyashiki gave Colorado a lead with six minutes remaining. But Hunter’s second goal came in the final minute of stoppage time to draw both sides level and set up Saturday’s critical match at South Field.

The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. MDT, with postgame fireworks courtesy of Provo’s Stadium of Fire to follow the result.
