Closing the gap between who we are and who we pretend to be

The path to freedom

All of us, to greater and lesser extents, spend our lives keeping up appearances. We project the version of ourselves we want others to see.

None of us want to showcase our worse side, of course.

But there’s a danger here.

The larger the gap between who we really are and who we project ourselves to be, the greater the chance of serious trouble in our lives.

And, in truth, freedom won’t be found until we close that gap between who we pretend to be and who we really are.

I like how Amber Rae put it in a recent email of hers:

Freedom comes from getting beneath who we pretend to be, and allowing our true self to come through.

Will we let our truth self come through?

It can be a painful journey at first.

But freedom is always worth the price.
