We are a Venture Capital firm investing in pre-seed/seed-stage marketplaces and digital brands in Southern Europe, UK and France. We were born in Madrid two years ago with a European DNA. We just opened an office in London and are looking for somebody to launch operations in Paris. We are a small young team, full of energy and passionate about finding and backing the best founders in Europe! Come join us!

Samaipata Ventures was founded by José del Barrio, founder and former CEO of La Nevera Roja, the leading food-delivery marketplace in Spain, sold to Rocket Internet in 2015 for c.$100M. We are a founder´s fund, investors thinking as entrepreneurs.
In our first 2 years of operations, we have put all our energy in building a VC of reference for seed-stage marketplaces in Southern Europe. London and Paris are our next stops. Check out some of our portfolio companies:
- FoodCheri, a Paris-based vertically-integrated online restaurant disrupting the food space. It has raised c.$7m from the likes of 360 Capital Partners and Breega
- Ontruck, a Madrid-based on-demand logistics platform that recently closed a €10M Series A led by Atomico and Idinvest
- 21Buttons, a Barcelona-based social-commerce fashion app with €13 million in funding
- CornerJob, an Italian-born Barcelona-based blue-collar job marketplace, that has raised $57M from investors including Northzone and Randstad

We are looking for…
- A doer, a proactive and hands-on individual with a passion for tech and startups. You were interested in bitcoin and blockchain before 2017
- A natural networker with strong relationships in the French start-up ecosystem. People love you and you love people
- A hunter hungry to find and chase the best deals. You never give-up
- An out-of-the box thinker with strong pattern recognition skills. You know creativity, structure and attention to detail are not the unholy trinity
- A problem-solver with outstanding analytical skills. You are a data geek and run your life on excel spreadsheets (if you´ve found a better way please let us know!)
- A contrarian, an opinionated critical thinker. You are respectful and open to everybody´s points, but also not afraid to speak up when you have conviction
- A work in progress. You are obsessed with your learning curve and know there´s always room to improve and continue growing
- A workaholic with a life. You are ready to work hard and roll up your sleeves on a daily basis but you also love life, you are passionate about food, art, fitness…whatever it is but there´s something that makes your eyes spark
- A team player. You are kind and fun to be around, your energy is contagious and we can learn new things from you, at work and outside work
- A citizen of the world. You speak French and English and have a multicultural background/exposure. Spanish is a plus but not required
- A French insider with the soul of a Spaniard. You love Spanish way of life and spending your time between Madrid and Paris gets you excited (and hungry!)
You need to have…
- 1–2 years as an investor in Venture Capital (ideally in France)
- Highly analytical professional background (i.e. 1.5–2+ years in a leading management consultancy, investment bank or similar)
- Strong academic background from a leading university
- Entrepreneurial/ operating experience is a plus
- Top-tier MBA is a plus
At Samaipata you will…
Be our eyes and ears on the ground in France:
- Find and win deals for Samaipata. Identify, build relationships and track the key startups relevant for our themes/stage
- Support our portfolio companies in France
- Build and maintain relationships in the French tech ecosystem, with relevant founders and fellow VCs
- Represent Samaipata at industry events and host events to raise brand awareness
Identify relevant market sectors and conduct deep-dives to build expertise.
Support our efforts in Southern Europe and UK.
Help us build Samaipata´s culture. We are lucky to work in something we love with people we like and admire and we value our culture the most!
