There are some points I want to share if you’re going to visit Taiwan

  • Taiwanese people are friendly, and you can ask them to help you find the correct direction if you get lost on the street. They may even treat you to a meal and take you to your destination before saying goodbye. In short, Taiwanese are more laid-back and warm. You are not a guest for them. Instead, you are family. Hence, you should try to be a traveler and immerse in any local community, not just a tourist.
  • Taiwanese food is one of the best on the planet. You must try it before you die. The worst scenario is that you could not find a place to eat and end up eating at 7–11, which is unlikely. Note: Taiwan is also a heaven for vegetarians.
  • If you visit Taiwan during the winter (December to February), you may want to visit the hot springs there. This is one of my favorite activities.
  • If you visit Taiwan during the summer (June to October), you may want to enjoy the water activities (jet skis, banana boating, parasailing, water volleyball, diving, snorkeling ,water skiing, rowing, canoeing, yachting/sailing, surfing, fishing, rafting, river tracing or some facilities at water parks) there.
  • If you like historical and cultural events, do visit the National Palace Museum in Taipei. All the treasures from ancient China are in that museum.

Apart from the National Palace Museum, there are many other kinds of museums and exhibitions waiting for you to explore in Taipei. You may also want to watch some street performers or unique shows that are held every day next to the museum or just on the street. It’s effortless for families to kill time there.

  • Here are some videos that can help you understand Taiwanese culture before visiting.
