Google-
So, I received a Google+ invitation from a friend last week (I was complaining on Facebook) and I actually signed up for it. Since I had an existing Google account, the sign up process was a breeze — it took me 5 minutes or so to populate all my basic information on my profile and that was it.
Well, I haven’t touched it since then. Frankly, I don’t have time to maintain another social media site nor I have any desire to migrate all my stuff from Facebook to Google+ like I did three years ago (MySpace -> Facebook.)
Of course, the Google+ hype is out there. Hey, it’s still “By Invitation Only.” Yes, there are 18 million users — it’s such an excusive club!
Granted, there are some interesting numbers from early reports (assuming they use Google Analytics??) To me, Google+ is more an integration than a creation. Am I going to utilize this social site later on? We shall see. If the smart folks at Google can integrate all the great tools from their franchise (Chrome, Gmail, Blogger, AdSense…) maybe I will give it a chance. Until then, my profile will just sit there.
