NFL teams are constantly trying to find new ways to gain an edge over their competition. From early mornings in the weight room to late nights in the film room. If something can provide even the smallest advantage, teams will look to jump all over it.

So its no surprise that Google Glass has already started to turn some helmets and attract the attention of NFL teams. Recently the St. Louis Rams decided to experiment with using Google Glass on the practice field. Quarterback Sam Bradford and Wide Receiver Tavon Austin each wore a pair of glasses and gave the world a personal view of what it’s like to be an NFL QB and WR.

The portability, size and functionality of Google Glass make it the perfect weapon when trying to gain that so called “edge”. Not only can it help players better learn plays and study practice footage but it can also give the audience an incredible first person perspective into all the on field action. I have a feeling it wont stop at the NFL and I can totally see referees, in all sports, wearing the Google Glass device to improve instant replay angles. I still haven’t made a decision on whether i’m a fan of Google Glass or not. But anything that gives people more access into the sports they love, is fine by me.
