Social networking is a great way to keep you connected, and I am sure most of you have a Facebook account (at the very least) whether you update it often or not. According to the latest figures, the average online user in the U.S. now spends nearly 16% of his or her time on social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. Yes, we are talking about 1 out of every 6 minutes.

Social networking is also a great platform to promote your business, and perhaps the dot com frenzy is back on Wall Street/in Times Square.

The “smart people” at Google are joining the party as well. Google recently announed Google+, a social platform that is set to rival Facebook in the social networking sector. In the meantime, MySpace was sold to Specific Media for $35M and rumor suggested that actor/signer Justin Timberlake will be involved in revamping the once social networking giant.
