AngelSense app updates can help us track our loved ones with special needs

Apps and wearable devices have become great tools in helping us track ourselves and our things, from monitoring our vitals and counting our steps to tracking our monthly spending. Now there’s an app that can help track our loved ones with special needs. AngelSense, an iOS/Android app + wearable device, has been recently updated with a feature called First Responder Alert that notifies parents about the changing location of their child. The wearable GPS device is a small, rectangular-shaped box with sensors that fits into a pocket or, preferably, attaches to clothes via an internal magnet.

The tracker technology uses automatic geofencing of a child’s whereabouts, exit alerts and warnings, and text message location updates as key features to keep children safe or find them when lost. Compared to competing, but more easily removable tracking devices, PocketFinder and Amber Alert GPS, the AngelSense is described as a “non-removable wearable”, catering specifically to families with special needs children. Developed by two parents of autistic children, Doron Somer and Nery Ben-Azar, the app and GPS tracking system has already saved at least one life.
