This summer, 3 internationally acclaimed organizations — Artists for World Peace, Lions Clubs International, and Vision Health International — are collaborating through EyeDonated.org to bring eye care to Tanzania. But they need your help.

Eye care in parts of Tanzania is nonexistent, and the majority of people in areas like Kibosho-Umbwe suffer from preventable eye problems — often caused by damaging sun exposure. Worse yet, many people end up developing cataracts, which can result in severe vision loss.

Here’s where you come in. By simply posting a beautiful picture with the hashtag #EyeDonated, you can help raise awareness of this issue and change how the people of Tanzania see their future. You can also donate directly to the cause — as little as $1 could provide glasses to someone in need, and as little as $55 could pay for cataract surgery. For more information, visit EyeDonated.org.

Seeing the Big Picture
Through EyeDonated.org, as many as 1,000 Tanzanians will be receive care — from corrective eyeglasses and sunglasses to cataract and glaucoma surgeries that will improve or restore sight. They will also be connected to the #EyeDonated Global Gallery. “When they can see again, they will truly see how much people care about them through images and messages from around the world,” says Wendy Black-Nasta of EyeDonated.org.
