One important change of the new 2017 version of 3D Visioner is the capability to operate on non-elevated User account. This type of access is typical to corporate IT way of things, where PC users have no Administrator privileges.

3D Visioner 2017 is capable of working in this kind of rights restricted mode, storing user-generated content (imported shapes) to %LocalAppData%\3D Visioner 2017\, while keeping its stock content (in-build models) at C:\ProgramData\3D Visioner 2017. This arrangement allows diferent PC users to share common 3D Visioner resources and keep custom models private to own accounts.

Multi-user (multi-tenancy) is also supported by 3D Visioner 2017. Once 3D Visioner is installed on a PC (this still requires Administrator priviledges), any local user account on this PC can utilize 3D Visioner. Due to Microsoft Office architecture, this requires one specific step, activating Visioner as a Visio Add-on via registry entry. The process is very simple: once the 3D Visioner is installed on a PC, log in as a normal user and run specific registry file (3dv_activate.reg), available at our site. After user runs this .reg file, 3D Visioner will be set as an active add-on in his MS Visio instance and will appear automatically at the next Visio startup. Please note that the license keys are not shared globally on PC and are user-specific.
