Love poem in a garden

I wish that I knew
How to say her name out loud
so that she would know
just how much I want to hold her
as we wander under
dormant arms of willows.
I don’t want to let go,
Except to exclaim at a grove of snowdrops
Their heads nodding, sharing secrets
I want to do the same with her
Stretch toward the sky,
stomach skin pulling and shoulder blades blossoming
Until I am so full of her sun
I can’t help but lean in.
Her body taking on my weight
In the garden in March.
