I hate this

My friend might get married

I don’t know if I can go

Isn’t there something I can do

I want to disappear

Just for a bit

Burrow under September’s leaves

Stay through the winter

And see who I become

Has emptiness ever been this vast?

I’ve chewed my nails so far it hurts

Climbed a ladder to pick peaches

There’s so much that I don’t know

Will I ever understand

Why my hands are shaking

How do you love a world this wide

How do I love a self this small

It feels like time is running out

I miss you.
