With the general availability release of Samsung Internet 8.2, you can now check out the new News feature for the US and India markets. Quick Access home page feature is enhanced by adding news content. Swipe up the news section to get a fuller view and start reading.

Let’s check out first the US edition of News in Quick Access. The reading experience starts simple with easy swipes to access many news across several popular categories.

Use Case Flow

The reading experience continues to be clean without ads and news worthy articles from popular and reputable sources. Choose among many categories — world, national, business, technology, entertainment, sports, science, politics, health, food, and travel — to catch up on your daily fix of the news.

You can configure the categories that you are interested in.

Interested Categories Selection

You need to enable “News feed” option in order to experience this news offering along with Quick Access as your default home page.

Enabling News Feed

Otherwise, if you wish to check out news feed later or remain with the original Quick Access, simply toggle off the “News feed” option.

Disabling News Feed

The India edition has similar functionality but with few highlights. Notice the introduction of Live TV for latest news from India and around the world. A refresh icon allows you to manually refresh the news.

The India edition supports 14 different languages to address the language diversity in India.

Along with language diversity, news can be further tailored to certain locations in India.
