The Hyōjōsho is the samuraiverse’s decentralized governance platform. It consists of members of the Samurai Legends team and elected officials from the community. The council discusses issues pertinent to the ecosystem and puts forth proposals that the entire community votes on.

The third council was established at the end of October and served a term of three months. It consisted of two elected community members (Rōjū) and two Samurai Legends team members (Tairō).

This article will outline the council’s activities and what’s next for the upcoming election.

Proposals

Over the Hyōjōsho’s third term, one proposal was put forth and subsequently approved by the community:

Proposal #8: Confirm the changes made to energy and rewards from Proposal #7

Discussion Agendas of 3rd Hyōjōsho

The Rōjū brought several worthwhile subjects to the table for discussion while serving on the council, including the following:

  • Adding utility to Okane
  • Rare NFT Rewards
  • Land Utility
  • Exhibition or Challange Matches
  • UI and UX onboarding of new players
  • Community contests/events
  • Engagement
  • Revaluation of Council Term and Norms/Policies
  • Phasing out of Samurai Rising

These subjects generated a great deal of insightful conversation and were immediately communicated to the team. Many of those issues can be expanded upon in the upcoming council term and will serve as the foundation for new proposals.

Your Rōjū started the process of discontinuing the Samurai Rising rewards, which will significantly lessen the selling pressure on $SMG and help to focus attention on the new PVP combat in Samurai Legends, which is presently being extensively tested.

Upcoming 4th Rōjū

The nomination season for the council’s fourth term has already started and will remain open until February 21. The council election will begin on February 22nd and elected on the 24th, with a council made up of three Rōjū. Do not forget that each Rōjū receives a special NFT with original artwork that is exclusively given to members of that term.

Ornate topiary and statues may be seen everywhere once you enter the palace through its courtyard gates. descending the steps to the broad doors with historical carvings from Kyoto. The Rōjū and Tairō are seated within the palace and are conversing during the final meeting of this council’s term.

They appear to have traveled directly from their clans’ base camp as its representatives, both Rōjū from different sides of Japan. The Rōjū are heard discussing fresh concepts and how to best prepare Kyoto for the exciting changes that are perceptible in the air while seated and wearing their forest green pendants around their necks. Following their most recent meeting, suggestions for a grand tournament and changes to the arena were brought directly to Emperor Nakamoto and started right away.

The Tairō wraps up the meeting notes and rolls them into a scroll as the third Hyōjōsho council’s final session comes to an end. The scroll will be hand-delivered to the Emperor and discussed as the next council’s planning gets underway. The two Rōjū approach a silver-lined case, lay their pendants on perches in a formal manner, and then close the case. A similar case sits 3 feet away, locked for the time being with three jade pendants awaiting the necks of the next council.

The former Rōjū walk out back through the wide doors to see the day a bit brighter and know they have had an impact on the future of Kyoto, and of those all across Japan.
