The Hyōjōsho is the samurai-verse’s decentralized governance platform. It consists of members of the Samurai Legends team and elected officials from the community. The council discusses issues pertinent to the ecosystem and puts forth proposals that the entire community votes on.

The fourth council was established at the end of February and served a term of three months. It consisted of three elected community members (Rōjū) and three Samurai Legends team members (Tairō).

This article will outline the council’s achievements and what’s next for the council.

Proposals

Over the Hyōjōsho’s forth term, one proposal was put forth and subsequently approved by the community:

Proposal #9: Pairing of SMG with BNB

Prior to being presented as a proposal, the community collectively voiced their thoughts on the matter. This marked the most pivotal decision the council had made thus far.

Discussion Agendas of 3rd Hyōjōsho

The Rōjū brought several worthwhile subjects to the table for discussion while serving on the council, including the following:

  • Exploring the pros/cons of going cross chain
  • Boost staking with the former KOKU Treasury
  • Changing tax in the Marketplace
  • Changing the liquidity pool pair
  • Quality of life update ideas for SamuraiLegends domains
  • Merchant revenue redistribution

These topics led to numerous valuable discussions that can be built upon in the future.

In the Upcoming Days

In light of recent events, including the discontinuation of Samurai Rising and the prevailing sentiment in the industry, it has become apparent that the Council has limited topics for discussion. Therefore, we have made the decision to temporarily pause Council operations until more ecosystem utility becomes active and available.

However, we are wholeheartedly committed to the idea of community-based governance, where users, players, and investors can actively participate, discuss, and decide on the application of the ecosystem as a whole. We firmly believe that this is the most appropriate course of action for a community-empowered project like ours.

With The Player Character Merchant and the Black Market thriving, along with the ongoing Open Beta of the Combat Encounter and its new Rewards Program, there will be an abundance of subjects to discuss and propose.

Within the tranquil gardens of the ancient palace, a sense of stillness hung in the air, mirroring the diminished activity of the Rōjū. As one entered the courtyard gates, the once ornate topiaries and statues stood weathered and neglected, a stark contrast to their former grandeur. Descending the worn steps adorned with faded historical carvings, one could sense the weight of time upon the palace’s walls.

Inside the palace, the council chamber was sparsely occupied. There was no enthusiasm, no grand vision for the future of Kyoto. The Rōjū and Tairō, their positions once held with great reverence, now appeared disinterested and tired. As the meeting drew to a close, the Rōjū approached a tarnished silver-lined case. With solemnity, they placed their fading pendants on their designated perches, a symbolic act that now held little meaning. The case, once a symbol of hope and power, was now a relic of the past, locked tightly, hiding the fading embers of their authority. A neighboring case stood empty, waiting for the day when new pendants might breathe life into its purpose.

However, despite the prevailing sense of disinterest and diminished power, whispers began to circulate within the palace corridors, and soon after word spread throughout the land that a gathering of minds would take place, an assembly of the wisest and most skilled from each corner of Japan. The real trials and the greater purpose are yet to come…

“Rest assured, The Hyōjōsho will make its return.”
