Introducing: Player Characters
While playing Samurai Legends, the player character will be your own unique and customized visual depiction. In this article, we will cover all the things you need to know before the launch of this highly anticipated feature.
How do I get one?
Each wallet will be given one default player character that cannot be traded. For players looking to have a more unique look, we have you covered. Once you acquire some new gear you want to show off, all you have to do is head over to your base camp to make changes. There you can easily select between your combat outfit, which will be seen while controlling your warband, and your ceremonial outfit, which is seen in full view at your base camp and partially in your avatar while in Kyoto.
You only need a signature from your wallet to change your equipment, and as there is no transaction, there are no fees involved. Feel free to customize your character as frequently as you wish.
Where to get your wearable wares?
It should come as no surprise that some exclusive or rare equipment will be given out as rewards for contests and even tournaments; stay tuned as your first chances might be sooner than you think. The standard way to achieve your own visual glory will be to purchase your new style from one of the two new vendors coming to a Kyoto near you. The merchant and the black market will be the two “go-to” locations to make your player character show off your personal style.
Merchant:
- Available all week unless his supplies run out.
- Restocks inventory each week with new equipment and sometimes resells previously seen items.
- All sales are in $SMG.
- Rarity 1–4 equipment is first seen here.
- Rarity 1–2 equipment has a chance to return.
Black Market:
- Appears at random intervals (48–168h).
- Only open for 24 hours at a time.
- All sales are in $BNB.
- The only spot to purchase rarity 5 equipment, and once it is gone, it is never coming back.
- After appearing at the merchant, rarity 4 equipment will be purchasable one final time here.
- Equipment with a rarity of 3 can return multiple times.
This indicates that equipment with a rarity of 4 or 5 has both a truly limited supply and a finite window of opportunity for purchase. There may not be a supply limit on equipment with a rarity of 1 to 3, but there is no assurance you will see the item at a vendor anytime soon.

News of the capital city opening its gates has traveled fast and far, while many have begun traveling to visit Kyoto. Base camps have become a frequent sight among the landscape as you get closer to the city, and the colorful banners of the different clans flutter in the breeze. Many are seeking the rewards promised by the shogun for the grand tournament when the gates were first opened.
Within the walls of Kyoto, walking through the city, you can hear whispers of the upcoming tournament. Some people are discussing the potential contestants, while others are speculating about the prize. Some are even placing bets on the outcome of the tournament within the tavern. You walk towards a growing crowd gathered around another golden scroll from the Shogun. As people read it, a smile adorns their faces as they stand aside for others to see.
The people of Japan
Those who answered my call to compete against one another within the arena continue to arrive. I call upon those who also seek rewards outside of battle.
In preparation for the grand tournament, five prizes will be awarded to five of you who stand out amongst the crowd. Five challenges will be set before you, and the winners will be seen long after the tournament ends.
This is only the beginning
-Emperor Nakamoto
You see two men entering Kyoto through the gates as you turn to let others read the scroll. The first is a well-dressed man leading a horse that is pulling a wagon. A few steps behind the wagon was a second man pulling a covered cart while donning a black cloak that hid his face.
You watch as the well-dressed man begins to drive stakes into the ground, constructing a stall in which to sell his wares. The cloaked man wheels his cart past and towards a shadowed alley. Before pulling the cart into the alley, you notice him turn his head toward the crowd gathered around the scroll. Too far away to recognize his face, you see him pull back his cloak and can make out a subtle grin as he turns and enters the shadows.
