🌟 Stage 1: Unleash Your Imagination 🌟
In the first stage of this epic contest, we invite all voxel artists to showcase their creativity and animation skills. Using the powerful VoxEdit tool, you have the chance to craft your very own Non-Playable Character (NPC) like never before.
But wait, it doesn’t stop there! The true magic lies in the original dance move you will bestow upon your NPC. Bring your characters to life with a dance that embodies their unique personality. From mesmerizing moves to dazzling grooves, the stage is yours to express your artistic prowess in the most captivating way possible.
🌟 Stage 2: The DanceFight Showdown 🌟
The top 16 winners from Stage 1 will be selected to take part in an electrifying showdown! This is where the true DanceFight magic happens.
In Stage 2, your skills will be put to the ultimate test. By collaborating with real dancers from DanceFight, you will recreate a dance move performed by the pros themselves! This is where the worlds of virtual and reality blend, making it an experience like no other.
🏆Prizes🏆
20 winners will be selected at the end of Stage 1: 16 Voxel Artists and 4 DanceFight performers.
16,500 SAND will be split amongst the top entries the following ways:
- 1st place: 6,000 SAND;
- 2nd place: 3,500 SAND;
- 3rd place: 2,000 SAND;
- 4th to 8th place: each receives 500 SAND;
- 9th to 16th place: each receives 250 SAND.
In addition, $300 will be split among the Top 4 best dancers:
- 1st place: $200;
- 2nd place: $50;
- 3rd and 4th place: $25 each.
IMPORTANT: Participants among the Top 16 will be able to mint their NPC and will get a Wild One Avatar after completeing stage 2. In exchange, you allow DanceFight to use your NPC on their LAND during Alpha Season 4.
Please note that KYC is needed to place in the Top 5 or you need to be a verified creator. Non verified account can earn rewards from 6th-16th place.
How to be a verified creator?
- Have a studio linked with a GMF account.
- Have participated in 5 contests and placed top 10 during one of those times.
💯Voting💯
Stage 1
Your asset will be judged based on the 5 criteria below. Each criterion follows a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being “very poor” and 5 being “very good”.
- Creativity (How creative was the asset based on the theme?).
- Usability (How usable is this asset in other games?). → Usability will be worth double points for this contest.
- Optimisation (Does this asset look optimised in The Sandbox Game?).
- Level of detail (The detailing on the asset).
- Quality of Animation (Was new animations added? How good are the animations?).
As much as we enjoy seeing your lovely scenes, please remember these contests are usually to encourage you to create something usable within The Sandbox, so keep that in mind when creating. ;)
Stage 2
The Top 16 winners from Stage 1 will have to recreate a dance move provided by dancers from DanceFight. The dance moves to replicate will be provided through email.
Stage 2 will be a bracket-style tournament in the DanceFight app where 16 dancing NPCs will compete 1v1 for prizes. The first round will feature the Top 16 (8 “1v1” battles), and each 1v1 winner will advance to Top 8 for another 1v1 battle. Top 8 winners will advance to Semi Finals and then the winners of Semi Finals will advance to the Finals. In each round, the DanceFight community/audience will vote to determine the winner.

✅How To Submit Your Entry✅
- Create a GIF and an MP4 of your fully animated asset. (We recommend using Gyazo).
- Tweet your asset’s GIF mentioning @VoxEdit, @TheSandboxGame on Twitter. Make sure to include #VoxEditWeekly hashtags in your Tweet.

⚠️Important Entry Guidelines⚠️
- Low quality entries or spammed entries with no effort put into their creation will be disqualified at The Sandbox’s discretion. The same goes for attempting to claim other people’s creations as your own — we’ll know.
- Entries with sexual, homophobic, racist, and other NSFW or inappropriate references will be disqualified. Keep it family friendly.
- Your submission must be original, made entirely by you. You cannot make an ASSET of a character that belongs to someone else (ie, Marvel, Disney, Sega etc).
- If a contest is in partnership with an external brand, you are allowed to use their logo but cannot upload your asset on the marketplace.
- Your entry must be made in The Sandbox’s free VoxEdit software (click here), available on Windows and Mac.
- Make sure you have read and understood the VoxEdit Contest Guidelines.
- Assets should not exceed more than 5000 faces.
- Assets should not exceed a max of 175 nodes.
- The maximum size of an asset is 512 voxels tall (16 meters). Floor print should not exceed 512 x 512 x 512.
- You can submit more than one entry.
- Voting for Stage 1 will be conducted internally by The Sandbox and DanceFights teams.
