The Sandbox Game Jam — Beast Quest

Submit your adventurous game to win your portion of the 100,000 $SAND pool prize!

Find your inner adventurer, we’re going on a quest. A new game jam has been announced with the added bonus of a partner joining in the fun.

The theme of this Game Jam is:

“Beast Quest”

As simple as that. Create your own adventure with monsters, heroes, magic, supernatural beings and more. The limit is your imagination!

To participate, all you really need is to be over 13 years of age, download our no-code Game Maker for free and get your imagination on high gear!

Sounds doable? That’s because it is. Read on to learn everything you need to know about our latest jam.

For your game to be eligible, it must be related to the Beast Quest vibe which means we should find some fantasy elements, monsters and heroes within your game experience.

*Do note that it is not imperative to include Beast Quest NFTs to your game to be eligible.

Important Dates

• September 6th: Game Jam Announcement & Submission START
• September 19th: Submissions CLOSE
• September 20th: Voting starts
• October 16th: Award Ceremony

Prizing:

The pool of 100,000 $SAND will be divided as follows:

• 1st place — 40,000 $SAND and one 1x1 LAND
• 2nd place — 20,000 $SAND and one 1x1 LAND
• 3rd place — 10,000 $SAND and one 1x1 LAND
• 4th — 10th places — 4,000 SAND and one 1x1 LAND each

That is not it however. Our partner has gracefully offered to include two additional prizes for the 1st place winner:

• The 1st place winner will be featured in the Beast Quest website and will receive the NFT of a published Beast Quest book.

How are the experiences judged?

The experiences will be judged by both The Sandbox and Beast Quest teams based on a 100 points scale:

- Overall Idea — (25 Points)
- Level/Game Design — (25 Points)
- Creativity — (25 Points)
- Playability — (25 Points)
- Bonus Points: Wow Factor — (Up to 25 Points Extra)

Are Teams Allowed?

YES! You MAY work in teams of up to 4 people if desired! The prizing will be split according to the number of team members.

Can I create custom assets?

Yes! You are free to create and use your own custom VoxEdit assets in game.

How do I submit my game for Judging ?

We will be using the Game Maker “Gallery” feature as a form for submissions as well as the FORM.

NOTE: You MUST submit your game to both the FORM HERE as well as the gallery.

You MUST upload your game to the gallery following the GIF tutorial below and using the title: “Game Jam Beast Quest — Game Title”
