The Sandbox NFT Homage to the Heroes of 9/11
A special release of four NFT heroes is coming to the Marketplace on Friday September 10th.
It has been twenty years since the events that took place on September 11th 2001. With that anniversary approaching we wanted to commemorate the braveness, mutual aid and compassion that was shown that day. The countless first responders that rose up to the challenge to lend a helping hand cannot be praised enough.
On Friday 10th at 3PM UTC we will add our contribution to the 9/11 Day fundraiser by releasing a special collection in partnership with Epik Prime.
The “Heroes of 9/11” epitomized the highest and most altruistic aspects of humanity. These four characters are The Sandbox’s representation of the heroism shown on that fateful day.
Two firefighters and two paramedics have been specially created for this event and net proceeds will benefit the 9/11 Day charity. Find more about the four legendary heroes that we have represented below:
9/11 Day
9/11 Day is a non-profit charity that created and annually organizes the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance as a permanent tribute to those killed and injured on 9/11, and to the many brave individuals who rose in service in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Their ongoing mission is to transform the annual remembrance of 9/11 into a worldwide day of unity and doing good, and to encourage millions of people to remember and pay tribute each 9/11 through good deeds that help others and rekindle the extraordinary spirit of togetherness and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy.
