The latest developments and updates on The Sandbox gaming platform
At The Sandbox, we’re currently working on the final blockchain steps to provide an intuitive flow for non-crypto users who are looking for very simple and accessible user-experiences. Meanwhile, a selective group of talented artists that have joined us through our Creator Fund are having a first glance of our Marketplace while exporting the assets that will populate the platform as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
Here are the latest developments, from a very exciting feature being developed for VoxEdit, to the hundreds of voxel assets that artists are exporting to the marketplace.

The Sandbox Game
NFTs on your land
One of the goals for The Sandbox game has been to offer simple and straightforward features that enable users to customize their worlds and create game experiences while only being limited by their imagination. The latest improvements, optimizations, and developments lean toward a full integration with the marketplace and the ability to place NFT assets on LANDS in the game.
As we prepare for the next step of integration, the final tweaks are coming together to give users access to their creations and owned NFTs while creating and customizing LANDS and game experiences.
Populating the Marketplace
Since its release, The Sandbox creator fund has received over 650 applications. From this talent pool, we have been working with over 75 talented artists — and over the past months they’ve been constantly creating amazing voxel assets that are populating The Sandbox Marketplace.
We are still in an early stage from a blockchain perspective, as the final tweaks on the smart contracts that the marketplace will be adopting are being finalized. However, artists are uploading the first set of quality assets that will soon be converted to NFTs as we release the Marketplace as a fully decentralized platform on the blockchain.
Only artists who joined us through the creator fund can upload their assets, but you can apply today here: https://fund.sandbox.game/
Inverse Kinematics — Early development
With the objective of providing essential tools that will enable the creation of fluid, polished, and defined animations, we are now developing inverse kinematics for VoxEdit. This essential development for animations, which is one of the most requested tools by the artists using VoxEdit, will provide creators that are new to animations an easy and very intuitive tool. Experienced artists, on the other hand, will be provided with a familiar and essential tool to create advanced and very detailed animations within our editor.
This tool creates a constraint for joints attached to a rigged skeleton. The models that are part of the skeleton have customizable pivots that select the position where the joints are attached to each other. Inverse kinematics will restrict the movement joints until it reaches the maximum distance of its attached joint. This prevents breaking of the skeleton, providing the possibility of dragging a joint as the rest of the skeleton follows.
