With our latest update we’re introducing new features that are focused on improving animations created with VoxEdit. From the ability to export dynamic animations in formats such as .glTF to the improvement of rigging models having the Pivot tool as a key feature, you will be able to customize your voxel models as much as you want!

Exporting to glTF and DAE

Both glTF and DAE are intended as intermediate formats for transporting data from one digital content creation tool to another application. Some of the many software packages that support these formats include:

  • Blender
  • Maya
  • Cinema 4D
  • 3DS MAX

By exporting animations to the mentioned formats we want to promote diversity for the customization that can be achieved within the limits of our editor.

Pivot Tool

One of the most highly requested features from the creators and artists using our editor, the Pivot Tool is the joint between the bones. This acts as a point of rotation for the models.

With the Pivot Tool, you can adjust the position and orientation of how an object is connected to the rest of the bones, making this a key feature to create dynamic animations.

Global/Local function

Since complex animations often require an skeleton structure containing many joints and objects attached to it, the Global and Local functions modify how the joints react in relation to the rest of the skeleton.

By adding this function, animations produced within the editor will be more lively and fluid.

Copy/Paste Key-frames

With the ability of copy and paste key-frames you will be able to repeat the position and orientation of an object already animated.

Both for saving time or creating a smooth animation loop without the need of doing it all again, this function is a vital addition for facilitating the creation of animations.

VoxEdit in the future

While working on the polishing of the UI, rigger, and modeler, we are committed to achieve a friendly, customizable, and practical 3D voxel software tool for both new creators and professional artists.

Although one of the next key features of the editor being worked right now is the Tilemap 3D for animations, our main focus is the integration of VoxEdit with the Marketplace in order to consolidate The Sandbox ecosystem.
