Human Evolution, the next step

I’m a product of the Indian Ocean trade routes. My mother is from India my father from East Africa and I am from the UK. I’ve learnt 8 languages travelled and worked in every continent bar the north and south poles. I’m on the move — I’m a nomad — the world is my home.

I’d like to share my thoughts on how ideas have more impact when there is a collaborative environment. In 25,000 years we humans have asked the same questions:

What are we? Where do we come from? And why do we exist?

3000 years ago in India, we began seeking answers using philosophical speculation. 150 years ago, we turned to science.

John hands, presents the answers to these questions using over 10 years of research, in his new book: Cosmosapiens: human evolution from the origin of the universe. It has been praised as a truly exceptional piece of work by Tim crane — the Knightbridge professor of philosophy here at the University of Cambridge.

Hands has discovered that the big bang theory for the origin of matter and energy of which we ultimately consist, is contradicted by observational evidence.

Sheldon, eat your heart out!

The latest models presented by cosmologist fail to account for 95% of the universe. The central idea is untestable and hence not scientific. Crucially, it fails to provide a rational explanation about how all the matter and energy in the universe burst into existence from nothing. Whilst scientific evidence has disapproved creationism, the current cosmological paradigm has become a belief system, not a scientific testable theory.

The current paradigm of evolution to which evolutionary biologists in the UK and USA subscribed for 65 years is Neodarwinism. Richard Dawkins popularised it in his bestselling book the selfish Gene, which too is based on mathematical models. It too is contradicted by 21st century evidence. And it too has become a belief system

Cosmosapiens is not about the limitations of current scientific paradigms, but what happens when we examine the latest evidence. What makes us different is not the size and shape of our skulls, our ability to walk upright — or our genes. Hands argues what makes us different is our reflective consciousness. In the evolutionary lineage leading to humans — consciousness rises to the point that it becomes conscious of itself.

We’re the only known species that not only knows, but knows that it knows. We reflect on ourselves and our place in the cosmos and as such we’re still evolving, and this evolution is noetic, an evolution of the mind.

Evidence shows that Darwinian competition causes not the evolution but the destruction of species. The instincts of Darwinism: Competition aggression hierarchism divergence- Inherited from prehumen ancestry — are decreasing. Reflective consciousness leading to cooperation, altruism, complexification and convergence have been increasing, and accelerating.

Through a cosmic evolutionary process characterised by collaboration complexification and convergence. We have become self-reflective agents of our future evolution

It’s collaboration (in Greek sin agonismos) not competition (agonismos) that has caused the evolution of successively more complex species. And so we can reasonably infer from empirical evidence that we evolved from primordial energy into carbon-based, mobile, behaviourally sophisticated lifeforms possessing the most advanced thing in the universe…The human brain

It is our cumulative knowledge, sin-agonismos, and community that will help us tackle the biggest issues of our time. We’re undergoing a change in leadership… to include the female arc. As we become conscious of this we must do something about it and display our pro social behaviour with follow ‘survival of the most cooperative”.

Our generation lives through wicked problems — as mentioned by Alan Watkins and Ken Wilber in their book wicked and wise — and through crowdocracy — we have lived a complete world change from mobile technology and the internet — and so change is possible.

We’re empowered to support each other to create and grow with one another and one day… run this world together. It’s time to synchronise, to share values that create an ecosystem of trust and authenticity.

At the thousand network, also known as the Sandbox Network, we challenge what it means to be a human being. We accept amazing people from every walk of life. And as everyone is extraordinarily accomplished, we push individuals to join our family — A home for co-creating whilst leveraging collective intelligence to meet some of our greatest challenges. We leave our egos at the door, and help each other connect at a meaningful level; we accelerate serendipitous interactions and above all, our purpose is to experiment–individually–and as a community.

I strongly believe that a collage of actualisation is stronger than Maslow’s self actualisation, and for this reason I endorse Mahatma Gandhi’s quote to:

Be part of the change you wish to see in the world.

Thank you John Hands and Alan Watkins for being so inspirational. And thank you Thousand Network, because without you in my life, I wouldn’t have an example of an incredible community.
