January Thousand Reflections: Mental Health

Dear Thousanders and friends,

We just finished our December series on Transitions, capping a month of reflecting and dealing with our transitions, professional and personal, some finished and some ongoing.

We started by exploring what makes a “Transition” as opposed to a more normal transition. Then we took a moment to be grateful and reflect on the things we have found in Transition we couldn’t have found otherwise. Finally, we reflected on how we stay focused during Transitions, and finished by sharing some of our personal stories of our transitioning times.

2016 was a rough year for many people, and it closes on a world that is more unstable than ever. People are more and more attached to a screen, robots are a step away from taking over, the weather is heating up and so is war and violence, and the times they are a’changin’, indeed.

Chances are pretty good, we won’t be able to fix the world by ourselves in 2017. Maybe the best we can do is to be healthier ourselves, and in doing so, make a healthier world. With that in mind, we are happy to announce our January theme: Mental Health. We’ll be looking at strategies for the new year, new technologies and advancements in the field, and sharing stories of our own struggles.

If you are in Thousand, please check the Facebook group for the new prompt or contact one of us directly!

Looking forward to your thoughts, as always!
