Sandclock Partners with Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon on Crypto for Afghanistan Initiative
Sandclock is proud to announce we are actively contributing to the Crypto for Afghanistan Initiative to create an immediate impact for those suffering from recent events in Afghanistan. More details below.
In light of the recent crisis in Afghanistan and following the immense impact of India’s COVID Relief Fund, COO and Founder of Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal, and Rahilla Zafar, Advisor for Fourth Revolution Capital and Producer of MINTED, invited a select group of innovators, entrepreneurs, and non-profits to lead the Crypto for Afghanistan project. The project’s goal is to enable the broader crypto community to donate funds to help those suffering from the tragedy unfolding in Afghanistan.
Since the formative days of the project, the Sandclock team has played a key role in assisting with the execution of the strategy, alongside Nagakarthik MP (Co-Founder of India’s Crypto COVID Relief Fund), Peter Vanderwaal (Founder and CEO of Stratigos), Sultan Latif (Director for Save the Children), and several other passionate leaders in the crypto community.
In addition to building the platform, Crypto for Afghanistan utilizes Sandclock’s proprietary fund-raising widget to raise funds — it is the same widget that was previously used in Sandclock’s Phase I sale in May. Sandclock will also play a key role in issuing NFT tax receipts to those who donate to Crypto for Afghanistan. Aligned with our mandate to lead at the forefront of crypto innovation, Sandclock’s NFT tax receipts will highlight the utility of our technology in delivering remarkable results for the broader community.
Given the urgency of the project, we are grateful for our Tech Lead, Ryuhei Matsuda, and Backend Team Lead/Architect, José Ramirez Codallo, for working within extremely tight deadlines. Their hard work has ensured that the tools and technologies to make this initiative a success are available and ready to be deployed.
We are also honored to be one of the multisig key holders for the project and as caring members of the crypto community, we will not only ensure that short term goals of the project are delivered with utmost care for the Afghan people, but we will also focus on long term sustainable strategies that will leverage Sandclock innovations to deliver impactful results.
