UK Estonia TechLink Launch Event — What was it all about?

--

The aim of UK Estonia TechLink is to help more in the UK technology sector to get into the know too as to what is on offer in and from Estonia, to the benefit of the technology sector and wider economies in both countries.

UK Estonia TechLink

A launch event for the UK Estonia TechLink project was held on the 20th of November in Tallinn, bringing together key people from both Estonian and UK tech society. The event was invitations only and my father (Alex) and I were there to represent Shipitwise.

Chris Holtby’s great party.

As all parties British Embassy Tallinn hosts, there was an “all-you-can-eat” buffet with many wonderful treats and an open-bar that had something for everyone. Also, people were able to try what real fish and chips should taste like (and of course, I had three servings).

First there were opening words from representatives of both sides. Then a fantastic laser show, depicting what UK Estonia TechLink project is all about. Later on, all 300 guests had a chance to network until 23.00, when the party was moved from Port Noblessner to Butterfly Club. And during the whole time, Chris was helping people meet all the necessary people in the room.

Apparently this was one of the last great parties Chris will be hosting at British Embassy Tallinn. But the best is yet to come — Queen’s birthday party. Still, it was amazing what they had accomplished.

Shipitwise was there.

It was also a great night for Shipitwise. We met guys from Lingvist, girls from Garage48 HUB Tartu, everybody from StartupWiseGuys and many more. Of course, we pitched and made them sign up for Shipitwise. AKA direct sales. We’ll see what happens after we start taking first orders on Monday.
