It’s Not The Creature, It’s the Lagoon
Donald Trump isn’t happening to us. DONALD TRUMP IS US.

Why is he so obsessed with how many people showed up at his inauguration, how many votes he won by, and how many people come to his rallies? Who cares about such meaningless numbers?
SAID THE PERSON OBSESSED WITH THEIR FOLLOWERS, LIKES, AND RETWEETS.
And can you believe the intelligence officials have to put his name multiple times in every briefing just to get him to read it?
SAID THE PERSON WHO IS ONLY SURE TO LOOK AT A POST/PHOTO IF THEY ARE TAGGED IN IT.
Plus they have to put all kinds of charts, images, and visuals in there because he doesn’t like reading. What a fool!
SAID THE PERSON WHO PUTS ANIMATED GIFS IN HALF THEIR POSTS AND PREFERS INSTAGRAM TO FACEBOOK BECAUSE PICTURES ARE EASIER THAN READING.
And what’s with the victim mentality? He won. He needs to stop complaining about how he’s been wronged by the media and everyone else.
SAID THE PERSON WHO’S CONSTANTLY OUTRAGED AND OFFENDED BECAUSE VICTIMHOOD GETS LIKES ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
Donald Trump isn’t happening to us. DONALD TRUMP IS US. He is a manifestation of who we are as a people and what our society has become. He is “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” yet we keep looking at the creature instead of the lagoon. Sadly, he is the leader we deserve.
Eventually, we’ll get rid of him. But that won’t change the reality of who we are and what we’ve become and how we live. We’ll still inhabit this putrid lagoon — and another monster will rise up from it. Unless we examine how we too are complicit in what’s happened to America.
