“Those who would not perform this internal meditation practice (abhyas) of elevating their Spirit upwards, will always remain confined in the physical body. They will undergo pain and pleasure owing to their bondages. Impure impulses will always arise in their mind, which will beguile their Spirit in lower regions, where Maya (illusion) is predominant and powerful. The pain and anguish prevalent in Mrityu Lok [the world of death, the world of the dead, the abode of Yama, the world which is subject to death and decay] and lower regions, and, above all, the pains of birth and deaths, are indescribable. Therefore, it behooves all to perform internal meditation practices (abhyas) as ordained by Sants. The Daya (grace and mercy) of the Supreme Being Radhaswami Dayal is so great that without leaving home and hearth, profession and avocation, if a person performs the meditation practices (abhyas) of Surat Shabd Yoga just once or twice every day, after having received initiation from the Sant Satguru or Sadh Guru or his loving satsangi, even then he will be safe from Chaurasi [the cycle of births and deaths] and located, after death, in a region of happiness. Radhasoami Dayal [the Compassionate Lord of the Soul] will grant him a human body three or four times and in each successive life he will be enabled to perform greater Bhakti and Parmarth [spirituality, love and devotion]. One day, he will be admitted into Nij Ghar (Real Abode), where he will obtain supreme bliss, and will be absolutely free from the bondages of physical bodies, births and deaths. He who does not engage in this activity, should be considered to be most unfortunate, and is yet destined to live in the regions of Kal and Maya [time and illusion]. He does not possess the Adhikar (fitness) and good fortune to attain supreme bliss by reverting to the Original Abode.”

“In its descent from the highest region the Spirit-entity has become enveloped in various coverings of matter or bodies, and so long as it remains in the second and third division where matter exists, it can not be freed from re-birth in the lower or higher regions. It is only in the first or highest division where there is no matter, that there is no re-birth.”
“At present the Spirit-entity of a human being is residing in the third or material-spiritual region, and has, therefore, to do all the work here by means of the senses and the mind which are mediums between it and the material objects, and consequently, as a natural result, its power has become quite hampered. But as soon as it begins to ascend, the powers, which are now lying dormant, become active and the Spirit-entity acquires ultra-material or higher power.
“The method of taking back the Spirit-entity to its Original Source is to ride the Sound Current.
“The method for taking back the Spirit-entity to its Supreme Source is first to concentrate at the focus of eyes [third eye center] the Spirit-entity and mind which are defused in our body and in a manner tied to external objects by desires and passions, and next to commence its journey homewards by attending to the internal Sound, or in other words, by riding the Life or Sound Current which has originally emanated from the Supreme Source.
“The Current which has been instrumental in having brought it down here must naturally be the ‘True Path’ for its return to the original source, and whoever finds this Current is on the path of emancipation. This Current, which is the Spirit and Life Current, is called in the Radhasoami Faith, “Sound’ or ‘Word” or Holy Name.”
