Stop Scams with Vigilance: Revealing Scammers in Advance
We have already found our FIRST SCAMMERS. First, here have been a number of impostors in slack. We delete them as we find them, if you find any please report them to the Santiment team. Second, we have found two scam websites, which copied our official website almost exactly! Thanks again to the community for bringing this to our attention. Here’s some key rules to follow so that you don’t get scammed:
1. Assume all messages from a slackbot/person in Slack asking for money or offering ‘pre-entry’ are a scam.
2. Only listen to official announcement channels. These include:
- #announcements channel in Slack
- www.santiment.net
- Emails from the official Santiment email list
- The official Santiment Medium Publication
We have been alerted to scammers exploiting Slack’s slackbot reminders to message users a scam website. Please note that we will never use slackbot to contact you or DM you an address to send ETH to.

We have also detected the following Scam websites:
- Santiment.io (.net has been placed with .io here)
- Santlment.net (notice the “i” is replaced with “l”)
Please do not send any ETH to the above websites. Only refer to our official website: www.santiment.net or #announcements channel in Slack.
3. Before sending ETH, look for confirmation from multiple sources. If you’re concerned or unsure about something, ask the team directly. We are here to help.
BEWARE OF SCAMS! We recommend cross-referencing different sources of authority for all mission critical information.
Additionally, to mitigate additional scamming attempts we’ve made key changes to our website by adding a ‘Scam Alert’ section. See here. If the scammers want to copy the anti-scam section of the site, and we hope they do, they will help us inoculate even more people against their activities. Only together, by being vigilant as a community, can we avoid mitigate the harm they cause.
