10. 4:44 by Jay-Z — I’m not typically a big rap fan, but I’ve slowly been coming around on the genre and 4:44 just sounded different from anything I’d ever heard.

9. Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie by Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie — Any collaboration between members of Fleetwood Mac is worthy of inclusion.

8. Something to Tell You by HAIM — They burst into the mainstream and I was given a taste of two dope tracks when they performed on Saturday Night Live.

7. Sleep Well Beast by The National — The National is a group I’ve never liked until their 2017 release, of which I was a big fan.

6. Lust for Life by Lana Del Rey — Lana is a singer I used to hate and then came back around to in a major way. Her sound on this album was very enchanting.

5. Run the Jewels 3 by Run the Jewels — AND THE CROWD GOES RTJ!

4. Harry Styles by Harry Styles — This was an album I never would have expected to like, but Styles’ solo career is off to an astounding start.

3. Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack — There were a lot of great movie soundtracks this year from compilations (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Baby Driver) to original works (The Greatest Showman, Coco), but the one with Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, and Ewan McGregor was the one I listened to the most.

2. Songs of Experience by U2 — The long awaited follow-up to their 2014 album, Songs of Innocence, U2 blew me away with their classic anthem sound and some beautiful ballads.

  1. Melodrama by Lorde — This album is absolutely the best. There are elements of art pop and some atmospheric sounds and some truly gorgeous sounding lyrics. Melodrama was absolutely the best.
