Top 10 Books I Read in 2017
The List App closed so now I have to make these lists on Medium! In no particular order:
Before the Fall by Noah Hawley — A well-written crime novel with a great deal of intrigue and well-developed characters, a hallmark of Hawley’s writing.
The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois — Such a poetic collection of essays.
Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris — I have literally never been disappointed by a Sedaris book.
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow — I can see why Lin-Manuel picked this book up. Truly comprehensive and thrilling.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien — Not as great as Lord of the Rings, but still so whimsically fun.
Papa Hemingway by A.E. Hotchner — It doesn’t just paint a portrait of a man and of a friendship, but also of an era.
Venus by Nicole Mello — Definitely check this one out!
Man Seeking Woman by Simon Rich — This is the book I laughed the hardest at.
Bobby Kennedy by Larry Tye — One of the saddest, most engaging biographies I’ve ever read.
Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too by Jomny Sun — I laughed, I cried, I met Sun himself. This is the most beautiful thing ever.
