Talking to a machine is a powerful way for people to interact with computers. It’s also a clear indication that we’re at an exciting point in our lives.

Who would have known that we would be here today, posing a question to a device and expecting an answer, knowing that we’d get one?

SAP CoPilot, your digital assistant and bot integration hub for the enterprise, has a twofold objective: to provide a delightful, personalized experience, as well as intelligently consolidated work data to increase efficiency for business users.

Your Digital Assistant in the Enterprise

We at SAP Design believe that technology should understand you, and not the other way around. With SAP CoPilot, you can use natural language to interact with your business applications. This allows a humanized, conversational experience across SAP applications, such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP SuccessFactors (and more to come later), as well as non-SAP applications.

By having a conversation with SAP CoPilot, you can now order equipment (see “Purchase Requisition” screen below) or view all items from different applications, such as your leave requests from SAP SuccessFactors and your purchase requisitions from SAP S/4HANA, all in one place (see “Cross Applications” screen below).

SAP CoPilot is already integrated in the SAP S/4HANA suite, and with the 1808 release, its first natural language interaction skills for SAP SuccessFactors are live for beta as well.

Bot Integration Hub

SAP Concur has recently released a travel bot within Slack that allows users to book flights and hotels.

A lot of our customers talk to us about other bots they’ve built themselves (e.g. IT helpdesk, Q&A) to make their employees’ lives easier. However, as the number of bots grows, they have trouble managing them. That’s why we have built the Bot Integration Hub feature of SAP CoPilot: it brings together all bots in one single interface and also exposes the bot functionality in different channels such as Slack via CoPilot, so that you don’t have to build a bot for every channel.

You can integrate bots from SAP Conversational AI, a collaborative platform for building, training, and deploying bots. SAP Conversational AI enables custom dialogs with machine learning-based natural language understanding.

Moving forward, we will also enable the integration of bots built with other bot-building frameworks.

Slack Integration

Slack, the collaboration hub for bringing together team members, information, and workflows in one central place, keeps everyone in the loop and offers key information at their fingertips. We’ve been working on an SAP CoPilot integration into Slack, which gives users the ability to work with SAP CoPilot wherever they’d like to work, even outside of their SAP applications. Users can increase their productivity and execute more quickly on their action items in their work.

SAP CoPilot has gone beta for its integration with Slack in 1808. In the future, SAP CoPilot will be integrated into other channels as well, such as Microsoft Teams.

SAP CoPilot Skill Builder

We know that every business is unique. With the SAP CoPilot Skill Builder, SAP provides businesses the opportunity to customize their SAP CoPilot by building new skills. SAP CoPilot Skill Builder is a code-free tool to enable conversational experiences for enterprise applications at scale. Literally, anyone can intuitively build new skills for SAP CoPilot in a matter of a few minutes.

You can read more details about our current and planned features in the SAP CoPilot roadmap, which you can access here.
