This was the first weekend in Phnom Penh. It was a already a week since the start of the program, the interviews, meetings, discussions, field trips and so much more! It was much needed for the team to get away and relax. With help of our Pyxera Global Cambodian Consultant we got a minivan with “Mercedez logo” and a driver for our trip. Kim Sang, the driver of the minivan was great and showed all the places with ease.

Kampot was 3–4 hour drive from Phnom Penh. It is such a cozy town perfect for get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The river front activities are very much active. We first visited the Bokor Mountain range stopping at these attractions.

The highlight was the Buddhist temple.

Well, exhausted and tired we went to greenhouse restaurant for our lunch! http://www.greenhousekampot.com/index.php It was indeed a great place, ambience and food. I got real veggie food with mint green tea and coconut ice cream (My lucky day !!).

View from the deck, jetty to go down to the river and good food !

We stayed at Kampot, which is a riverside sleepy town with boutique hotels, bars and activities.

Next day we were headed to Kep which is a beach town ! I was super excited seeing the hammocks next to beach side for public use. It was a great place to relax and rejuvenate !

We reached Kep, got on to a boat to go to Rabbit Island

Relaxing on hammocks, beach chairs with food and a foot scrub to top it off !!

Returned to Phnom Penh by night 9 pm it was indeed worth a trip ! Next week trip is even bigger, stay tuned and keep reading ! Thank you !
