Closing Time… Farewell India!
Home sweet home after six weeks abroad in India…
It was quite surreal to be driving into the office this morning amidst orderly traffic, where each car stayed within their dedicated lane, and horns were not blaring every few seconds. Today marked my second day home, first day in the office and the day we presented our projects to managers and SAP CSR in a virtual meeting.
It was nostalgic to hear everyone’s voice from The A-team as each group shared their project and experiences. Needless to say, all teams were successful in their project deliverables, but more importantly, I think it is what what we had gained personally through the process as well as what we were able pass on to our organizations during our interactions that was the most valuable.
Trips like these are a great reminder of how blessed I have been in my life. Just as our company motto is to “run simple”, life’s motto should be to “live simple”.
We often take for granted our day-to-day activities and habits that we have developed over time through education and opportunity. As we worked with our organization, we realized something as simple as diligently working in collaboration with our team was noticed by the startups around us. Our ability to ask the right questions and capture ideas into concise requirements and workflows are skills that they enthusiastically consume and plan to put into their own practice.
We were definitely a happy bunch as we shared in the success of our social sabbatical.
Now, instead of heading home directly after the social sabbatical, I opted to explore other parts of India. =)
Hence, I will close off my posts for #SoSaIndia2017 with photos of my travels over two weeks, through six states, a wonder of the world and visits with friends along the way. Enjoy!
