Today is arrival day for everyone. Thomas, Verena and I arrived during the night, as did Fernanda from Pyxera, so we meet at breakfast. Next to arrive are Esteban from Argentina, and Maru our local Pyxera contact, so we head out for lunch at the wonderful Pescados Capitales. It’s true what they’ve been saying for months — Peruvian cuisine is amazing. I may need 2 seats on the way back, this food is sooooo good.

After lunch, a quick stop at the local supermarket for water and snacks, and then a short walk past the Parroquia Virgen Milagrosa church to Parque Central de Miraflores.

Just in front of the park on Calle Virgen Milagrosa, Peruvian artists are showing and selling their artwork, and there are loads of places to sit and soak in the incredible atmosphere of this wonderful place.

In the park people are dancing to salsa music and a crowd is watching the dancers. There’s a wonderful energy here, and everyone is smiling and enjoying the moment. It’s infectious and I find myself smiling and moving to the rhythm of the music.

I’ve not even been here 24 hours yet, and I already love it. This is going to be a fabulous month. Can’t wait to meet the rest of the group this evening and tomorrow during team building, and our clients on Monday, when we get down to work.
