I started the day with a nice breakfast and a question of what should I wear for the day! A suit and a tie or business casual!

The kick off day is for us to meet our clients and for them to give an overview of their programs & organizations. As well for Social Sabbatical team to confirm plans for daily commute to work, clarify the Scope of Work SOW as much as possible, and get to know each other with personal relationship-building. Finally, I decided to go for a suit and a tie.

All four teams of Social Sabbatical Brazil 7 left together to SEBRAE-SC building to have the kick off meeting with the clients.

Before kick off we did networking with all four clients and organizations related to the assignments: “FUCAS”, “SEBRAE-SC”, “Semente Negócios”, and “Social Good Brasil”. Some sweets and fruits were served.

For team Semente Negócios that I belong to, we met the CEO Mr. Marcio Jappe who is our direct contact for the assignment. As well, we met our project assistants Ms. Fernanda Souza and Ms. Mariana Machado who are part of our team. They will help us both to navigate and break the language barriers with Portuguese.

The event started with introduction into SAP CSR Social Responsibility given by our mentor Ms. Diane Pereira.

It was followed by each organization providing their overview of programs & organizations. After each organization overview, related SAP Social Sabbatical team was introduced with both personal and work experience background.

To encapsulate this precious moment the team decided to have a group picture. What we did not know that the roof of SEBRAE-SC has excellent view toward the Atlantic Ocean.

Then, we continued the day by working with the clients in their respective offices. For Team Semente Negócios, we had a tour of the work open space and some IT project related setups such as accessing the wifi, DropBox, and having a Slack account.

Together with Marcio, we went over the Scope of Work and their Caminho Empreendedor methodology (The Entrepreneur’s circle). We wanted to understand how the methodology is designed. We went over the 6 stages and their milestones: Explore, Engage, Build, Market/Sell, Grow, and Structure.

We went over their provided products such as Start-ED, StartUp RS, Economia Criativa, etc. Plans to attend workshops to understand their provided products and come up with ways to improve them.

By the time we left, the sun was setting, and I was able to capture some nice surroundings.

Finally a beautiful picture was taken by Mathias Braje for the sunset in Florianópolis.
