Today was our first day at ComIT. What a day!

Most of you might not know that Buenos Aires is doing now its first Local Social Sabbatical, so we are sort of a “pilot”.

It’s a really huge advantage to be working at the same place the organizations are. We already understand the community and their needs, and less but not least: we speak the same language!

We also have a medium publication were all groups are posting their experiences, so we invite you to see our work so far:

So now that we have already introduced ourselves, let’s continue…

It was time to meet some of the team members of the organization (ComIT) so on friday, we went there and worked together with María Jose, or “Majo”, and also with Estefanía, also known as “Tefi”.

They both work as administrative assistants but they are also committed to help children and professors with any requests or issues they might have during their courses or workshops.

Soledad (“Sole”- the organization’s representative) was also there to help us and to give her perspective on how things are working for them up to this day.

It’s was a really great opportunity to explore different points of view on how ComIT can improve and which could be the next steps to achieve their goals.

Majo (ComIT), Agustina (SAP) and Sole (ComIT) working together.

For most of the non profit organizations it’s really hard to understand that, in order to grow, they need to start thinking somehow as an enterprise (especially when it comes to sectorize areas) but without loosing the vision of what they truly believe and fight for.

It’s also pretty common to see that some tasks are done by most of the members, which sometimes ends in assignments done double or communications getting lost because there is no guidance established.

So as the title says: “Here we are”, to comprehend why things are being done this way so far, and then to think outside the box and see how can we collaborate from our perspective.

Maybe it’s time for you to think outside the box today too!
