The second day in Jaipur, Sunday, was all about the team.
After breakfast, we met in the lobby right in front of my room to start some team activities to get to know each other better. We did Human Bingo, talked about the projects in general and everyone presented their own “life timeline”. There was lots of laughter and talking going on.

During our prep weeks, we had been asked to do a personality test based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ personality type theory. After responding to the 64 questions you obtain a 4-letter-type formula with the strengths and descriptions of your personality type, including communication, learning types, and, for example, the compatibility with others in our team. Some of us were NOT happy at all with their results, but then Deniz shared a much more concise description of the MBTI results (see pic on the left).
Matching the personality types to drinks was so much more fun and finally everyone agreed to their types.
Btw — I’m Homemade Lemonade to Share.
And although I don’t like lemonade at all, the description is 100% me: Cares for others in practical ways, creates a community, works to create harmony. Here we go, there’s no escaping this definition!

In the afternoon, we got together in our subteams of three to discuss our scope of work. The SAP Social Sabbatical program usually sends 12 people to one location. The team is then split up into subteams as there are usually several small projects. My subteam mates are Deniz and Terence and our project is called Startup Oasis, an incubation center here in Jaipur. Their goal is to develop an ecosystem in the state of Rajasthan to inspire and support students, aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups to solve persistent problems, develop breakthrough innovations and create world class enterprises. While they have their headquarters here in Jaipur, there are seven centers in others cities throughout Rajasthan, mostly in Technical Colleges. They are now looking for a model which helps them to evaluate their current processes and develop best practices.

Deniz, Terence and I went through the scope of work, collected all the questions and ideas we had so far and decided on an approach for the next day. Because tomorrow, we are finally meeting our customers at the official SAP Social Sabbatical Jaipur Kick-Off Meeting in the Park Prime Hotel.
